Cone Bearings versus Precision Bearings
The cone ball bearing installed in this product is characterised by its robustness and comparatively sophisticated construction. Please do not be fooled by the supposedly difficult running behaviour, this is generated by a pretension of the cones and adjusts after a few kilometres of mileage.
In case you want a pedal with smooth running behaviour before assembly and use, we recommend our S-Pro series, here the "S" stands for sealed bearing = precision bearings. These come without a cone and no preload is required. We only use this technique in professional cycling.
