Easy to install over existing receiver. Good for SKS of all makes including Chinese Type 56. A lightweight scope mount with picatinny top rail right over the centerline of receiver when installed. The mount allows use of iron sight from the opening underneath and also the use of stripper clips to top load the magazine. The mount has a roll pin fixed in place at the front left side which rests against top side of receiver when properly installed. The mount is held by the replacement receiver cover retaining pin and locked in place using two large set screws with pointed tip at the back side of the mount. The riginal retaining pin is not detachable by design. A stud on the side needs to be removed from the pin or a key notch needs to be cut on the hole so that the pin is detachable. The top base rail has 14 ring slots marked with numbers which make it easier to set up eye relief and find more desired placement of scope or red dot sight on top of the receiver. The scope rail is compatible with weaver rings and also with red dot sights with Picatinny mount. The mount is of solid one-piece design and is machined from extruded aluminum alloy. Mounting screws are included with the unit.

Note: IMPORTANT: Apply BLUE thread Loctite on the threads of two pointed set screws first so that they stay locked in place. Follow installation instructions in the manual. When choosing a scope or sight for use with the mount, be sure to get one of short length to clear off the ejection port and the path of ejected brass to avoid damage by the brass hitting the front end of the scope.
