These incredible, unique yoga mats are the fulfillment of a thirty vision by artist, Charlene Marsh. Marsh hand dyed hundreds of pounds of wool into thousands of different colors, developing the dye formulas and cataloging the results. She would then use a hand held tufter to push the yarn through a cotton backing stretched on 2x4s to create tufted tapestries. She created many series of these tapestries including geometric, figurative, and narrative. Using sacred geometry, mandalas, chakras, the tree of life, and other design elements, she made several series of "yoga chakra rugs" spending months creating each piece. These wool rugs are what Marsh used in her own yoga practice. She dreamed of one day being able to print these designs on yoga mats for all to enjoy. The technology just wasn't there until recently to be able to bring these full color designs to yoga mats. Marsh adapted the fiber art designs to fit the 24" x 72.5" yoga mat format. This incredible mat is the result of years of effort to bring the very best, premium yoga mat to the market.
